Stickman - Who's On First

Stickman animations and stick figures in general are still popular. They never seem to go out of style. And why would they?

They're simple figures consisting of mostly lines and circles. With that in mind I've decided to add stickman animations to my channel.

 .

They're are lots and lots of these animations on YouTube with most of them being fighting videos. The most popular are the Animation vs "fill in the blank" animations by Alan Becker. These animations will blow your mind and are way beyond what I can offer you.

I've had a few animations of stickmen dancing but this one I just created is, right now at least, hands down my favorite. I delve into public domain on my channel and show different ways to make use of it. I've added public domain videos such as Dragnet and Abbott and Costello.

That's where I got this idea from. Why not take the audio from Who's On First and use stick figures to perform the routine? I mean it offered a way to add a little pizzazz to the routine and maybe let those who have never heard this classic banter enjoy it. It's one of the funniest routines ever.

I'd like to know what you think about it. Did you enjoy it? Like to see more? If you do please Like and Subscribe on my YouTube channel.

Jiggs and Maggie Comic

In 1913 George McManus introduced Jiggs and Maggie. It was an instant hit. Probably because people could relate to the characters.

Jiggs became an instant millionaire when he won a sweepstake. He would rather hang with his old friends and keep his lifestyle the same but his wife, Maggie, has other ideas. She wants to become upper class and wants Jiggs to do the same.

That's the gist of this comic and it makes for some very funny comic strips. They were also featured in Sunday comics and comic books.

The cartoon, while meant to be funny, also shows the conflict between different social classes. Jiggs would rather go to the bar and sit around drinking with his friends. Maggie tries meeting women who are socially high up.

Quite a contrast.

The hilarity, in part, is watching Jiggs try to escape the constant nagging by hiding out at the bar with his friends. How do think that works out for him?

By the way, this comic was also called "bringing Up Father."

I found this piece of information as I was doing some research on these characters:

"A surrealistic running gag throughout the strip, always removed from the main action of the story, involved hanging wall paintings that "come to life", with subjects often "breaking the fourth wall", escaping the confines of the picture frames, or changing position from panel to panel within the same strip. None of the nominal stars of the strip ever seemed to notice the animated figures, or anything unusual happening on the walls in the background directly behind them."

Honestly I never noticed that so I plan to check some of the strips to see this. That would be unique.

Stickman Dancing On Top of TV #shorts

This stickman is having a blast dancing on top of the television. I used Cartoon Animator 4 Pro to make this video. I didn't make this stickman. They have a marketplace and I purchased it.

I've got other stickmen as well, some I created and some I bought. My plan is to make more cartoon videos using these stick figures as it seems they are still very much liked with Youtube viewers.

I'm curious as to what you would like to see. Would you like to see more stick figures on this site or would classic comic pages be of more interest?

I also have some characters on the order of South Park and am considering featuring them more. Maybe mixing stick figures into the mix with them.

Stick around for the new year and I'll build this site up for you.

Mona Lisa Hoarding Toilet Paper?

Is Mona Lisa Hoarding Toilet Paper? She says she's not but looking at her sitting there with the supplies in her hand makes me wonder. Her sarcasm doesn't do anything to make us want to say she's innocent.

Coronavirus Blind Dating - Cartoon Animator 4

Do you wonder what dating might be like right now during the coronavirus social distancing order? I thought it might be fun to take a look at a blind date.

I was thinking about this the other day and wondering how online dating apps are doing. How do people get together now? What about dating? There seems to be a lot of restrictions as to what is allowed to be open and the rules the places that are open need to follow.

I know a lot of it depends on what state you live in. I thought it would be funny to make a little cartoon video about this. It's on the order of one I did about hoarders during this crisis.

Testing Using Animation with Live Video Background - Cartoon Animator 4 Pro

I'm experimenting with using live video in the background and adding animations to it. I think it came out decent for the first attempt? I'm using Cartoon Animator 4 Pro.

I got the video from Pixabay and used it as the background. I wanted the character to enter the water and look like he was caught in the current and dragged down the river.

It needs some work but it was my first attempt. The trick is to use the video background and go through the frames and make certain the animated characters are flowing smoothly. As you can imagine this takes a lot of time.

But it's fun. :-)
